This story has a circular text structure, and three events before the problem is solved. The characters are mice. The illustrations portray the mice as sweet and loving. Other animal characters in the story include a mole, owl, and duck. Read aloud time: five minutes. Teaching Possibilities: The language and dialogue in this story opens up plenty of opportunities for study in writing workshop.
