We've put together a comprehensive list of fantastic websites with math resources for the busy classroom teacher. A number of the sites are interactive and student friendly.

Illuminations

Illuminations is an interactive website with over 100 online math activities, hundreds of math lesson plans for K12 classrooms, website links, and information about national standards.

National Library of Virtual Manipulatives 

This website is a must for math teachers. You can literary move math manipulatives around in a virtual world. Students can practice math concepts on the computer, or teachers can use the site to teach a lesson by plugging up the Internet to a projector and screen.

Interactivate Math Activities  

Learn everything from telling time to statistics at this interactive learning website. You need the latest version of JAVA in order to use this site.

Louisiana Department of Education Lesson Files

The state of Louisiana put together an incredible resource. Click on your grade level pdf file for pages of lesson activities. There are files for every grade level and subject.

Busy Teacher's Cafe 

The Busy Teacher's Cafe has oodles of free math worksheets in pdf format. You'll find everything from addition to problem solving. The worksheets are for elementary math.

Math Center 

This fabulous teacher provides both pictures and instructions for primary math centers. There are lots of great ideas on this site!

Math Page for Teachers 

This page features manipulatives, strategies, and printouts for teaching elementary math. The pages are based on Van deWalle's mathematics.

Second Grade Mathematics Skills 

Some lists of links are worth bookmarking. This page is a list of specific links to specific online math activities appropriate for second graders. Each link includes an annotation explaining the activity. Although the links go to different websites the collection is too good to pass up. This site was last update May of 2007.

Texas TAKS Attack 

Texas math teachers will want to bookmark this site. You will find lots of TAKS math practice worksheets you can download and print for free. The math practice is for grades 3, 4, and 5.

Math Facts Cafe 

Here you will find facts worksheets, flashcards, and a worksheet generator for 1st - 4th grade.

Math Vocabulary List 

This is a list of mathematics vocabulary words for PreK - 6th grade.

Math-Drills Free Math Worksheets 

There is a little bit of everything at this website. If you need a worksheet this is the place to go. There are worksheets for both elementary and secondary math students.

 

Numeracy

This site contains several interactive math activities for ages 4-11. The site is hosted by the BBC.

Van DeWalle Blackline Masters 

This site contains a list of blackline masters you can download and print. You will find everything from dot cards to place value maps to base ten grids. This is a great resource for math teachers!

Create a Graph 

At this interactive math site, students can create different kinds of graphs, including bar, pie, line, area, and XY graphs. There is also a section on probability worth exploring.

Archytech Educational Mathematics

Archytech has developed interactive math games and exploratory activities using JAVA scripts. Explore everything from money and time to algebra and Pi.

Change Maker 

Here's a fun game by Fun Brain. Students learn to make change. Currency available for the United States, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Change can be made for $1.00, $5.00, $100.00, and more.

Math Baseball 

Here's another fun way to practice math facts from Fun Brain - Math Baseball. Practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division at this interactive math site for kids.

H.I.P. Pocket Change 

Coming directly from the United States Mint is H.I.P. Pocket Change featuring interactive math games, history of money, and teacher resource pages.

Math Glyphs 

Learn about math glyphs. See student examples and get teacher resources at this neat little website sponsored by Mathwire.

Patterns 

Use geometric shapes to explore patterns with this interactive JAVA math game.

Kid's Bank 

This site features a fun, interactive place to learn about money and banking.

Hooda Math

This new, interactive site features math games and videos for middle school students.

Math Slice 

This site has a bunch of really cool interactive math activities for your students.

Great interactive online math games for elementary students. No ads!

Six Math Glyphs 

There are six math glyphs at this site for you to use in your classroom: I'm a Star!; Home is Where the Heart Is; The "Me" Quilt; A Fish Glyph; A Simple Apple Glyph; and A Witch Glyph.
