Making Predictions
Good readers make predictions before, during, and after reading. During reading they are constantly confirming or adjusting predictions, and making new predictions based on new information. Predicting is an active, meaning making strategy. Through predicting we have a sense of purpose for reading, and experience self-motivation to "find out what is going to happen."
