We've put together a comprehensive list of fantastic websites with math resources for the busy classroom teacher. A number of the sites are interactive and student friendly.
This website is a must for math teachers. You can literary move math manipulatives around in a virtual world. Students can practice math concepts on the computer, or teachers can use the site to teach a lesson by plugging up the Internet to a projector and screen. Learn everything from telling time to statistics at this interactive learning website. You need the latest version of JAVA in order to use this site.
The state of Louisiana put together an incredible resource. Click on your grade level pdf file for pages of lesson activities. There are files for every grade level and subject.
The Busy Teacher's Cafe has oodles of free math worksheets in pdf format. You'll find everything from addition to problem solving. The worksheets are for elementary math. This fabulous teacher provides both pictures and instructions for primary math centers. There are lots of great ideas on this site! This page features manipulatives, strategies, and printouts for teaching elementary math. The pages are based on Van deWalle's mathematics.
Some lists of links are worth bookmarking. This page is a list of specific links to specific online math activities appropriate for second graders. Each link includes an annotation explaining the activity. Although the links go to different websites the collection is too good to pass up. This site was last update May of 2007. Texas math teachers will want to bookmark this site. You will find lots of TAKS math practice worksheets you can download and print for free. The math practice is for grades 3, 4, and 5. Here you will find facts worksheets, flashcards, and a worksheet generator for 1st - 4th grade.
